John completed his Honor’s Degree and Bachelor of Science in Political Science in Spring 2021. After finishing his degree John accepted an offer to attend University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Law in Fall 2021.

Honors Thesis Title: “Drug Dealers, Criminals, Rapists": The Influence of Fear and Risk on Support for Immigration Policy

Adviser: Kellee J. Kirkpatrick, Ph.D.

Sandra graduated with an Honor’s Degree and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Idaho State University in 2020. Upon completion of her degree, Sandra began a Ph.D. in Political Science at Notre Dame University in Fall 2020. Her research centers on identity politics and political behavior. More specifically, she is interested in unpacking Latina/o/x identity and how it interacts with political structures and institutions in the US. Sandra has presented her work at numerous academic conferences.

McNair Research Project Title: The Impact of Attorney and Justice Gender on Attorney Success at Oral Arguments

Adviser: James W. Stoutenborough, Ph.D.

EmiLee completed her B.A. in English and a Minor in Political Science in Spring 2019. As a McNair Scholar, she worked with Dr. Stoutenborough and Dr. Shane A. Gleason (Texas A&M - Corpus Christie) to complete her research project on the impact of gender on oral argument success. Upon completing her degree, EmiLee left Idaho to pursue a Ph.D. in Political Science at the University of Kentucky in Fall of 2019. EmiLee currently focuses her research on text analysis to better understand judicial decision making.
