Welcome to the Stoutenpatrick Research Lab!

The Stoutenpatrick Research Lab was created to foster and facilitate research among the students of Dr. Kellee J. Kirkpatrick and Dr. James W. Stoutenborough. The lab is named after the two founders, Dr. Stoutenborough and Dr. Kirkpatrick, who work together to mentor students to reach their research and teaching potential.

Our students research a variety of political science topics including political socialization, public opinion, and public policy adoption. They have presented at myriad academic conferences including the annual meetings of the Midwest Political Science Association (MPSA), the Southern Political Science Association (SPSA), and the Pacific Northwest Political Science Association (PNWPSA). Our students have also had their work published in a variety of academic journals and books.

We are currently taking students. If you are interested in joining our research lab, please contact Dr. Kirkpatrick or Dr. Stoutenborough.
